"I Want the Moon, Not the Spider"
Based on a True Story & Inspired by Literary Classics
Jessie Chung organized a nationwide fundraising tour of 10 performances of the stage play Moonlight to support cancer patients. Every show was a sold-out success, receiving widespread critical acclaim.
The script of Moonlight is inspired by real-life events and integrates elements from classic Chinese and English literary works. It also reflects Jessie Chung’s personal views and experiences with love. She plays the lead female role, while the first and second male leads are portrayed by actors with extensive theater experience, including roles in the films Forbidden 100 and Heroine, performed by Marcus Choot and Tylor Chen.
Jessie Chung stars as Yang Xiaofan, a young woman bursting with life. Originally cheerful and full of laughter, she embarks on an emotional journey when she encounters love, experiencing its joys and heartbreaks. The innocent and endearing Yang Xiaofan finds herself caught between two men with contrasting personalities. As her hidden past unravels, her relationship with her family becomes increasingly strained, leaving her lost and helpless.
The play's intricate themes of love, resentment, family, morality, and responsibility captivate audiences, immersing them in an emotionally charged storyline that evokes tears and deep reflection.
